India is at a critical point. Old and experienced players are about to retire and some new faces have shown extreme promise. This is an article in which I will analyze every player’s individual qualities and his role in the team.
Ajinkiya Rahane is a really important part of the Indian team. He can play anywhere in the batting line-up and can be used as a floater. I personally believe that ‘Jinks’, as he is called, should bat full time at No.4 instead of Yuvraj. Making him sit out is a folly. He should also continue his No.5 position in tests.
ODI Batting Average – 34.77
The strike bowler of the Indian team, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is known worldwide for his swinging deliveries and spot-on yorkers. He can be dangerous with the new ball. I think that India might consider giving him a chance in test matches. He is arguably one of the best bowlers India have had.

Perhaps the most exciting player to analyze, Hardik is a first-class all-rounder. He is supposed to be a 5th bowler but captain Kohli is using him for the early wickets and always making him complete his full quota of overs. He is the best finisher and hard-hitter of the Indian team.
ODI Batting Average – 41.28
The ‘king of death bowling’ has an excellent variety of deliveries with his best being the wide yorker which cannot be scored off easily. He provides the team with frequent breakthroughs and is usually the one who finishes long partnerships. The only negative about him is that he bowls too many no-balls.
ODI Bowling Average – 25.32
The ideal all-rounder to make a perfect duo with Hardik is Jadhav. His slow deliveries sometimes are helpful in getting rid of the rabbits (tail). And he is also helpful down the order as he can adapt himself to either hit the ball hard or to play steadily if there is a collapse.
ODI Batting Average – 56.50
He is a very smart spinner who is capable of taking many wickets. He gets a lot of turn too. If he is given regular chances, he would make a great third musketeer with Ashwin and Jadeja.
